Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Here's what may happen to the Free Halifax.

They have 500 to give away, 150 are now gone to England as Silver ones.

The British ones say right on the box that there, 1 of 150 world wide.

Corgi saw that may of us in the US didn't want a Chrome Halifax.

So I think the U.S. ones maybe a Painted Versions of the Halifax limited to 350 worldwide.

This is why I think it's taking so long to get them to us.

That's a pretty rosy scenario you paint, IXEC. For those of you who collected and sent in your tokens, I hope you're right.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Cloud cuckoo land!.

Far more collectors would have sent in tokens in the UK rather than in the US, so to supply 150 (worldwide actually) only to UK and 350 to USA would make no sense at all - even to Corgi.

Nobody wanted a crappy silver Halifax anywhere on the planet, least of all in UK (we have the crappy silver Vampire and Wessex to bear yet).
Corgi reneged on the (very clear and very precise) wording of their offer of 500 models for each colour of token, as set out in the 2007 catalogue and each insert supplied with a "token" bearing model, reducing it to 150 - so far just for the Halifax - and will be harassed through all the consumer legislation (and small claims courts) available to me if needs be to furnish me with models that are still outstanding for the number of tokens I sent to them, prior to the current closing date, which they tell me will be extended for all but the Halifax model ( as they seem to be under the impression that they only need to offer 150 models).

Would be good to see the folks that sent in their tokes have the deal honored.

As they should be! We can hope Corgi comes through and honors their offer in the end, but hard as they're trying to ignore it, the stench of this carcass isn't going away. Keep us posted on the proceedings, Horrido.

Well, I wouldn't say "nobody'. There's me, and at least two others who have bought them from evilbay, but you were probably talking about sane people so point taken.

I sent in tokens for three free Halifaxes.

I know of no one here in the US that got one, yet, am I wrong about this?
