...a busted flush, and Corgi held all the cards. Given their inability to meet even one deadline, and since many (if not most) deadlines are missed by months, I doubt they'll try anything like this promotion in the future.

Okay, so if Corgi are going to instead do a "real" paint scheme, are they also going to extend the deadline for submissions? I've long had the tokens, but since the silver Halifax was just a crap waste of space, I saved my stamp. If they are instead going to do a real scheme, I'll get the tokens mailed today.

I've got enough blue tokens for a free Halifax, but hadn't bothered sending off for it because: -
a) I have no interest in a silver version, and
b) I'm not even sure they are offering it to collectors outside of the US and Europe? (No addresses given for anywhere else - can anyone clarify?)

But if they have had a change of heart and are going to be offering a "real" scheme I'll be seriously P.O.'d if they don't extend the closing date.

Then again, the cynical amongst us might say that the silver model was a smoke-screen to minimise the number of free models they had to give away ;-)

I sent a message to Corgi USA over the weekend and got a reply before I had even logged on Monday morning. The guy who wrote (Matthew? Sorry, I don't have my work email open right now.) said get them mailed out today and I should have them by the deadline, I'll keep an eye out for your name in case they arrive a few days late.

My email was something along the lines of, "I've been holding off sending in tokens since I have no interest in the silver Halifax. However word on the Model Hanger forum is that Corgi is doing a "real" livery. If so, I've got more than enough tokens and I'll gladly send them in. Can I get an exemption since i think we are after the due date?"

Matthew (?) never specifically said they were doing a real livery, but I made it clear in my email and my replies that a real Halifax is what I wanted. He didn't deny it was going to be a real Halifax, but didn't confirm it either.

Anyway, tokens were mailed Monday morning so I guess I'll see in a few months?

As for the states side address, its listed on the card inside each model. There is a US address as well as a Europe/Rest of World address.

As for reducing the number of birds, it says right in the print next to the address that each "special" bird is limited to 500 copies, first come first served.

Spinnaker - I could not find anything on the tokens or on Corgi's website to advise that collectors outside the UK / US would not be entitled to one of these.
Time will tell but i'd expect at least a courtesy email if they were not going to send them outside of these countries. Failure to do so will earn them a s**t-o-gram from me!!

Read the fine print on the bottom of the card contained in each model with a token. Beneathe the pictures of what you get for each token, it has the address to send your tokens to in the US and separately in the UK.

All the cards I've checked, and the 2007 catalogue, only show a US/Canada address, and a UK & Europe address. However, they don't say that collectors from outside those areas are ineligible, so hopefully I'll be ok.

The next problem is that the offer closes 31 January - today in this part of the world! I think I am going to fax a letter to them, along with a photocopy of my tokens, and then post them airmail. Hopefully that will be enough .
