Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Sent an E-mail on Monday still no bounce or reply.

Is it's a small operation, which I'm pretty sure it is, the guy is swamped. I'm lucky if I have one afternoon a week to read email and respond and even then I only get to a fraction. The best thing to do is call them.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Well got an E-mail back today, and it looks like Matthew is part of he Corgi Basketball team because it bounced back. I have one other E-mail address I have to dig up and try.

Have you tried calling directly to the Corgi USA in California? Might be an option to consider, since E-mail option has not turned to much up for you so far.

I think North American collectors are screwed on this deal CC (all but indicated by the email I received from the Corgi Dir. of Overseas Ops. last week). I sent an email to Hornby's asking if they might consider honoring the deal but have yet to receive an answer (understandable since they just got the company, but it would be nice to get some form of answer - otherwise they are no better than Corgi USA in customer service - just MHO).

I am still hopeful, though I long ago resigned myself to the prospect the hood ornament,...er shiny Halifax... will be substantially delayed in delivery.

I have not actually researched the legal issues potentially involved if Corgi reneges, nor have I looked to see if there is any fine print on any of the promotional material about this offer that might give Corgi an out. However, I still say the promotion is essentially an inducement to all of us poor saps who bought models with the goal of accumulating enough tokens to qualify, and I just cannot see them blowing it off, particularly in light of the fact UK customers received theirs.

Who knows, maybe we will own Corgi after a class action.

Would be nice just to have some king of answer for the folks who went through all the trouble of sending in the tokens.

With you there CC. I've still yet to hear anything from them after sending my tokens in a whole year ago. Peeved is an understatement.

Think it's a wee bit early for Hornby to be able to come to some closure on this mess! We can live in hope though. Maybe they will send us a free F-13th to make up for it

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Under UK consumer law, I cannot see any out for Corgi.

The latest information I have from Corgi HQ (yesterday) was:

As Corgi have been undergoing changes in the past year it has been difficult to adhere to release dates that were specified. This has been the sole reason for the delay in the offer and as stated in my previous email you will be receiving the models that you have claimed.

We are still reviewing the offer as many of the models which contain the collectable tokens have not yet been released and as soon as we have dates for these models we will be re-issuing a closing date for the offer as we want to be fair to all of our collectors and make sure that everyone can get hold of the models and participate in the offer.

The Halifax* offer is now over-subscribed and so we will not be accepting any more blue tokens, however any claims which have already been received will be honoured.

*If they mean 150 Halifax, that is not good enough as it stated that they would be making 500 of each of the 4 models in the offer.

Horrido!
