Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I agree with you, djjeffhall. I have no doubt whatsoever we will get the free paper weight,...uhh, Halifax. I think they are understaffed and trying to do things on the cheap in a tough business and a rough economy.

I just find it amusing no one seems to be thinking. For example, it would be pretty simple to draft an informative, customer-friendly reply and have it canned and ready to be sent automatically to every "free Halifax" e-mail.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I'm glad to know it's not just me that hasn't received the Halifax! I have to say that Matthew tried to help me in January with a missing part (was sent the wrong missing engine cover livery for a 1/32 Sea Hurricane). It's the thought that counts....at least my Hurricane has an engine cover now!

In all seriousness, I don't see how Corgi can not fulfill it's Halifax Special Offer to the people who sent in their tokens. Doing so would pretty much kill it's reputation and with it's current state of instability, I don't believe it can survive something like this. IMHO, now more than ever, Corgi has to know that they need to keep their customer base instead of losing them over something so trivial. What do you guys think?

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

They should have extended the deadline as there was no way you could send tokens in for the WW1 planes as they hadn't been released.
Corgi USA probably doesn't have an answer for us about the Halifax.
I think their production facilities are being used by Majestic replicas for something else
I've cut way back on the Corgi as they are just too expensive.
I figure there will be lots of close out sales as I don't think the downturn in the economy can support all these websites.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Who was your contact? I have been in contact with a Matthew Harrell. I just sent him an E-mail today to see if I could get some answers.

Yup, Matt's the man. Let me know if yours bounces too kabelace. The bounce I got usually means "no longer works here", but it may just be a server error.

Trex0770 - Ironically, the bird I need a canopy for is the 1:32 Sea Hurricane. heh

Djjeff,
If my Sea Hurricane gets shot down, I'll be sure to salvage the canopy for you. Between our 2 Sea Hurricanes we should have a complete plane!

Seriously, Matthew at Corgi was very nice and I got the engine cover within 2 weeks time (and at no extra charge). I almost feel bad asking for the correct livery...but not THAT bad!

No bounce here, but also no reply. I will give it a few days yet.
