Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Same here Old Crow. I got no confirmation that I'm getting the model, just an email (responding to my enquiry) saying I'm on the list. I followed up asking how many people have submitted to Corgi USA for the Halifax model and he says they are "very close" to the 500 number.

What the real issue number is is anyone's guess but anything less than 500 is going to go over like a lead balloon!

OK guys - whoever get's their Halifax from Corgi USA first has a duty to the forum. Drop everything you're doing (except the model!) and report in here on the issue quantity as stated on you box and/or certificate! Agreed??!!

Agreed no4mkit,

I did get a confirmation letter for one of the Halifax's. My wife, and son, also sent in tokins for one each. I was told my wife and son are on the list after calling them to ask. But the wife and son didn't get any confirmation, ( letter or email ) and they sent their tokens in well after me. My son sent his tokins in with a postal delivery confirmation and it was recieved by Corgi-USA on Jan.31st. I guess we represent all the concerns for the free Halifax, multible Halifaxes to the same address, letter confirmation, no confirmation, names on list, and dead line receit of tokins.

I will post the second anything happen over here.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I sent a second email seeking confirmation that I had qualified and received a polite response that I was, indeed, on the list. Still taking a wait and see attitude.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

At this point with so many different responses concerning this particular post, I was wondering of everyone, is your wanting the "Free" Halifax more a matter of the desireability of the model itself or a matter of principle that Corgi follow through on it's offer? I mean personally, after seeing photos from our UK members who've received their Halifax, I wouldn't buy it if it was just a regular production plane. I'd have to say for me it's a matter of principle. What do you think?

It's the principle of the thing. I have my confirmation letter and I want my model, even if lil' ol' Hal gets fed to the shredder.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

For me it's both. I like and want the model, and since I sent in my tokens on time and Corgi has told me I made the list of 500 recipients, they are obligated to follow through on the offer.

Agree 100%. - If they promise something they had better deliver

Ooops!

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

At this point I'm more fascinated by the range of responses from folks on the forum. As I said elsewhere, I was very excited when I thought I was getting a "real" livery. The silver paperweight thing is just going to take up space. I might take it out of the box, even fly it around the room once, but after that I'll file it away and either sell the damn thing or toss it in the smelter.

I do have to say that its kind of neat that it is the "desert" plane being offered in the UK which I wasn't planning on purchasing. Maybe I'll even try painting the damn thing. After all, it can't look any worse after my scrawlings than it will as a silver paperweight, right?

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Well after 6 months I finally got a reply from Corgi that I am on the list to receive a Halifax. According to Corgi USA they have not received there shipment of promotional Halifax's yet but are expecting it any day and that they will be shipping them out in the next few weeks. It might be silver now, but it gives me a really good excuse to get an air brush and see what I can do.
