Seeking Sea King Opinions

I'm interested in the Corgi "Apollo Recovery" Sea King diorama. Does anybody have this that can offer their opinions on whether this is a good model or not? Are the Corgi Sea Kings highly regarded or should I pass on this for $69?

I have it and I would not sell it for $300. I love the Navy scheme, it is highly detailed and with the capsule man it is one cool historic diorama. Go for it.

Re: Seeking Sea King Opinions

lanslide,
Do not walk, but RUN towards this diorama. It's pretty damn wonderful and perhaps my single favorite Corgi. (It's a toss up on any given day between this and the Gladiator diorama.)

It's a fairly old bird and getting pretty hard to come by. $69.00 seems reasonable to me, but then again, I sincerely LOVE this model so price really wouldn't be an issue for me.

I have no idea how accurate the mould is? I'm not a rivet counter, but to me, it's right pretty.

Re: Seeking Sea King Opinions

Thanks for your comments guys! I depend on your opinions before I buy...and I just bought! I was wrong though - it was $79 but I have always wanted this model since it came out a few years ago but thought the price was too high (how much was it originally?). I love the space program and I go to the Kennedy Space Center with my two sons (5 and 9 years old) at least once a year. I thought this model had been unavailable until now and I didn't want to miss out again. I have just about every model there is to have regarding the U.S. Space Program including all of the Code 3 and Danbury Mint models.

Re: Seeking Sea King Opinions

Once you get it, let us know what you think?

Speaking of space program birds, do you have the Corgi B-52 with X15? How does that hold up? What is a decent price for that?

I have this one...This squeaks in at a very close 2nd behind Diamond Lil...The day-glo orange and bare metal are striking....I would say $69.95 would be a real decent price for it and I can tell you where to find it at that price if you're interested....

Re: Seeking Sea King Opinions

Skunky,
Hey there sir.

Wow, a Corgi you like? That is fine praise indeed. That is the price I've been looking at so I'm sure we are both looking at the same place. The vendor does jack up their prices (In my opinion at least.) so I'm always a little reluctant to pull the trigger with them. Good service, high pricing.

Yep, I know what you mean...I think it could be tough to find any (at least NIB) much lower than that price though..

Re: Seeking Sea King Opinions

My rating on the SeaKing Appollo recovery diorama release is:
It is THE BEST of the best ever....
You can find them sometimes on Ebay being sold at a very low price by individuals that do not appreciate it very much.
