Corgi 1/144 C-47 vs Model Power 1/144 C-47?

I was thinking about getting either the Corgi or Model Power 1/144 C-47 to go along with my Corgi & Dragon 1/144 aircraft (B-17, B-29, C-130, B-52 & AWACS). Does anyone have an opinion on which C-47 is nicer? I know that MP only offers gear up option, but from pictures I've seen MP's mold looks more crisp.

Trex, does MP even have a1/144th scale C-47?...I thought theirs was more in the neighborhood of 1/100th, or whatever fits nicely in the box....

Skunky,

They do. The stand on MP planes lists the scale and the ones for the C-47 show 1/144. Others from MP that are 1/144 are the Osprey and Warthog (maybe 1/145 but close enough to pass). I hate the fact they tailor the scale to fit the box but like that they at least show the scale albeit you do have to wrestle with the package to see what is listed on the side of the stand!

IMHO, the 5 MP planes I have (A-10, B-52, Osprey, B-2 and F-22) are excellent for the price....I just won't buy anymore of the weirder scales even though they have some nice liveries.

BTW, great avatar......I must say.....

Thank you so very much I really must say!

The only MP I have is a delta formation of 6 Blue Angels F/A-18s which I believe are in the wildly popular 1/150th scale....It hangs on my wall...

Yes, yes it is ..(not sure it was worth the 90 bucks or whatever it was though). It hangs right next to my 8X10 signed photo of Pat Sajak...(which of course is priceless, I really must say)

Trex...I must be one of the few MP collectors that think they have a good product, and they've been getting better with each new series. I absolutely love my MP C-47 (The Argonia version); I think it's one of the best MP releases, as far as paint, detail and accuracy, for its scale. It's well worth the $12-$14. I've been considering adding one of their DC-3 versions as well to my collection, too.

I have both a Corgi and MP 1:144 scale C-47. Frankly, they are fairly close as to quality, however, MP gives you only one option where the landing gear are concerned---it's wheels up only. In contrast, Corgi gives you a wheels up or down choice, which gives it the nod in my book.

Thanks for the responses Miked62 & Epapazian, this helps alot. The price is definitely right for the MP!

Epapazian, one last question if you don't mind, do the planes appear to be the same size (since Skunky thought the MP might not be 1/144)?

Thanks again!
