Thinking about a 1/32 Mosquito

OK, I am very close to taking the plunge and buying one of Corgi's BIG Mosquitos. Which one? I'm considering the Moncton Express because the PR one looks rather plain and I don't like the painted nose on the Attack By Night one. I would be interested in hearing comments by members that actually own any of these. Tell me the good and bad. Yes, I have heard that these things are huge. Thanks.

Re: Thinking about a 1/32 Mosquito

I have the PR bird, and it is awesome. That is the only way to describe it. Very cool. Perhaps one of the coolest I own. Be prepared, it is bigger than I thought, even thinking I knew.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I agree with MD on the PR Mossie it is rather elegant to look at in my own eyes! But to each his own.

Re: Thinking about a 1/32 Mosquito

All I keep hearing from this thread and others is about how big it is. I look at my 1/72 Mosquito and compare it to a like sized P-51 and think that it's not that much bigger. Then I look at my 1/32 P-I 51 and try to visualize how big a Mosquito would be. I would like to see one side by side with a 51. So do y'all display these monsters or keep them boxed? I don't know if it would even fit in my display case and if it does, there goes half of one shelf. Stiil waiting to hear from a Moncton Express owner.

I have the Moncton Express and it is a BIG bird.... I don't have room for it and doubt I ever will, that is how big it is...

I took a quick comparision pic with a 1/32 Bf-109G..

MY GOD IT'S HUGE! I may be reconsidering this purchase. Hack, I have the Barkhorn 109 and that one picture speaks volumes. Do any of you actually display this monster? I know what the rough measurements are but until you see a picture of it next to something that gives it some perspective, you just don't have any idea how big it really is.

Re: Thinking about a 1/32 Mosquito

I had the Moncton Express and it took up a whole display shelf that would normally take two 'heavies' and about eight aircraft all 1/72. For that reason I foolishly moved it on. If space permits I wll go again as they are superb models.

Corgi missed out on a huge marketing opportunity by not doing the fighter bomber version as the tooling needs would have minute IMHO.

Re: Thinking about a 1/32 Mosquito

I have the Moncton Express and yes it is huge.I have it on top of my display case flanked on either side by the 1/32 Douglas Bauder Spifire and Huricane. They make a great combination.

You will not be disapointed if you get this big bird ( it is beautifull ).
