Sold on EBAY last night

I was watching an auction on ebay last night and about fell out of my seat when it was over.

Corgi 1/32
AA34902 Bf-108G, "Gotz", Black Double Chevron. Sold for $192.00. Perry's price: $79.95.
P-51D BBD. Sold for $144.00. Perry's price: $84.95.
P-51D Green Old Crow. Sold for $127.00 Perry's price: $74.95.

Let's do the math. $463.00 would buy you all 3 from the auction. Perry's price $239.85.
And they did not offer combined shipping. I'm just hope that these buyers are around when I try to sell some of my stuff.

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

Ebay is a VERY fickle thing... Sometimes an item will sell for nothing, and the next day, it goes for tons... No explaination, but maybe just the excitement of the "win"...

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

It's really crazy. I was watching these three items as well. Not to buy, I have all three, just to see what they'd go for. For me, I'm trying to find a bargin. Mostly I stop before I exceed known retail prices.

I see the person who won the 109 was new. Thing is, it takes more than one person to bid an item up like that. Nuts!

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

It is often a case of more money than common sense, but hey, it is great for the seller.

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

Proof positive of idiots in the world. Which is why I always will at least google something I want to see if it can be found elsewhere for less money. Especially with books. I have found some on ebay that seem to be good prices but when I check Amazon, I can sometimes find them cheaper and do not have to wait for the auction to be over.

As far as die cast, I will always check several places such as TFM, Aikens, Burbank HOH, Aim Higher Jets, and Pete's to name a few.

But truth be told, I have found the best deals here in the classifieds section.

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

For once I agree with everyone's comments. I never buy untill I've done some research. I usually save plenty by doing that. On the other hand, I know how it is to get caught up in the bidding war and excitement.

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

I just noticed that the same seller has just listed P-51D "Stinger". Let's see if that was a fluke last night. If that thing sells fo over $100 we may want to contact the winner and recommend this site. Then again, he may get suicidal if he realizes how much he overpayed. Just a thought.
