Re: Sold on EBAY last night

I love watching when two e.Bay newbies start duking it out. The whole concept of "i've got to be winning all throughout the auction" is hilarious. There is only one time it matters if you are "winning" and that's right when it ends, which is why I think sniping is the only way to buy. As a seller, I always hope for two new guys pushing the price up way beyond stupid.

I wish I could say that I have never made a mistake on e.Bay.... but alas I have made many. I think this is why I enjoy seeing others repeat the same mistakes! Stupid loves a crowd! :-)

I was watching that auction and when I saw how much the 109 went for, I went out and bought one for the £ equivalent of $69

That does offer a perverse sense of satisfaction, doesn't it? I've done it myself from time to time, Sweet.

Re: Sold on EBAY last night

As a seller I feel it is good to get as much as you can on e-bay. My seller ID is louielvira of course. I have nothing for sale so this is not a plug.
I would not call an ignorant person an idiot.
Perhaps these guys had money to burn and less time to shop around to be fair.
I say this because one time a MB P-38 sold for HUGE money and I called the buyer stupid or something like that.
Ended up he was a member of the hangar and I was embarrassed.
I bid $206 on a CW F-14 and lost. It's all supply and demand.
I get lucky on e-bay and get to sell models I have for above retail.
I do not feel like I am taking advantage of a newbie if they are the winner.
I am providing a buyer with an item they are willing to pay that much for.
