Re: Corgi AA35508 1:32 Hurricane "Night Reaper"

Feb 15 1993, we lost a Hurricane, Spitfire, Avenger, Stinson, Auster, and an Aero Commander.
The Lancaster was saved by a firewall in the old WW2 hanger. All were flyers.

Thank God the Lancaster was saved.

Such a sad thing that just those TWO Brit'-bombers (only) still fly

I've heard actual-recorded soundtrack of waves of Lancasters passing over a 'Sound-Recordist' (wartime - Lincolnshire-coast)

(there was a Vinyl-L.P. available in the 60's & 70's, with actual-Wartime recordings)

Spine-tingling sound, if ever there was one !!!!!!!!!

As you know - one alone makes enough 'racket' (a whole Squadron must sound menacing).......

I'd loved to have been around during the War & heard & experienced the sound of 'Fleets' of these, night after night !!!!!!

We are VERY, VERY lucky, that these 60 year old beauties are STILL on the strength of the RAF

Makes commercial sense that Corgi 'replicates' the "Battle-of Britain-Memorial-Flight", as they ARE a 'Big-Draw' at shows over here.

Oh, just remembered to post a (Historical) link, to the Pilot of 'BE.581' (the original) "Night-Reaper",whom 'PZ.865' is painted-up to represent........

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Great link explaining the 'man' behind BE.581/PZ.865's (current) markings....

Nice story of the aircraft and pilot, Hornchurch. Thanks.

I assume, Hornchurch, that you're not implying that you would've liked to experience the 'sounds' of these at their point of destination ...
