Thumbs up What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

With all the grousing and griping going on here recently (partly my doing,I admit), one would be inclined to think Corgi only produced 'dogs'. (Pun intended -- well, 2/3s of a pun -- P.U.)

Not true.

Recognizing that these models are somewhat 'simplified' and not museum quality we are looking for YOUR models that YOU think are absolute perfect representations of any specific aircraft -- regardless of scale or category in the Corgi range.

What is perfect? The markings are spot-on. All the details provided (canopies, under carriage, flaps, armament, wing and or fuselage shapes) match your photo reference. You look at it and say with confidance: "That is a great looking 'whateveritis'"

Now I have only a small collection of a couple of dozen WW2 and civil propliners (the odd jet too), but I have been able to nail 3 in my collection as being absolutely PERFECT in every way, shape and form (with the reference I have at hand). They are (in no order):
1. 2nd edition of the 1:72 Dams Lanc
____(Markings, shape, u/c, colour, 'WW2 feel' all spot on)
2.*Canadian Pacific Bristol Britannia 1:144 -- CF-CZA
____(All markings, u/c, and perfect shape)
3. *F-86 Sabre 'Golden Hawks' 1:72
____(All markings, details, colour, shape say PERFECT to me!)

* With the exception of the Dams Lanc, I have also had the privilege of being able to inspect the real McCoy in some detail and these models do hold up very well to their original. What a pure treat!
These 3 are mine -- what are yours?

I would have to pick the following as some of my Corgi favorites:

1. Vickers Wellington Mk. IA N2873 WS-B
2. Catalina Mk.IIA RAF 208 Sqn
3. Westland Lysander Mk. II No. 225 Squadron RAF France
4. Have 5 different Gloster Gladiators and like them all.

I love the Corgi 1/72 P-38s. They just look so good in my eyes.

Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

My 3 Corgi Favorites are:

1/72 Swordfish (any livery)
1/72 Stuka (Acroma/Snake liveries)
1/72 Lancaster (PO-S and 1st issue Dambuster (which was my 1st anniv gift from my wife))

These are planes I always gaze at when I walk by my display case.

Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

Swordfish is perfect almost, just a tiny tiny bit overdone on the rib detail.

Then Merlins over Malta pair, very striking.

Gladiator is quite nice.

OK I ADMIT I AM NOT TELLING THE TRUTH, Its the P40s that I DROOL over.
CORGI, MANY THANKS FOR ALL THOSE NEARLY PERFECT P40s I JUST CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF THEM.

God Bless America.
