Well its like this Rush, I bought one of those because its my fav all time prop liner and the scheme is really cool.

It sits on top of my cabinet where I can drool over it while I am working on the computor.
However some furry Killjoy pointed out to me that the ???????? are too high. ( I am not telling you what so you can still be blissfully ignorant of the glaring fault).
Huh! I looked again and AAAArgh he is correct,

Now every time I look at it my eyes are drawn straight to the ???????????? DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really should have seen that but they say love is blind.

God Bless America.

Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

.
That's a pretty hot model, regardless of price! Wow -- impressive, but not for my collection, though.

JPN

Aw now come on JPN, this is one of the best diecast ever made.
Its a nice big plane too, you just got to have one ,you just got to.

Just to add to its amazingness (is that a word) its the first time Corgi ever made aircrew that looked like aircrew!

Jim, you speak great truths -- it is most certainly a fantastic looking model in everyway possible -- probably the most engaging I have seen (or ever seen from Corgi). I have seen it in a shop, looked it over carefully, admired it but frankly -- the simple fact is, this stunning 'stringbag' just doesn't fit my collection today. (Not today, anyhow ) The first Gladiator released would be a closer contender, but because it too is a 'stringbag' -- likely not for me. But due to the stunning detail -- it's a sweeeet looking model too!

Same thing with the He-111s. I don't collect any German aircraft, but I sure admire the Corgi variations of THAT one, Most are extremely accomplished!

Jim, all I can say is you're right, you're right, you're right and we'll see!

I appreciate the heads up, jim. Now, do I investigate the fault or do I remain (willfully) blissfully ignorant???
So many tough decisions one has to make nowadays...

I have to admit that I am biased when it comes to Swordfish because of family conections with the plane.
However if you have a certain theme to your collect then an odd one out would not look right.

I am often tempted to get a modern jet, F14 really tempts me but like you I have the problem that it just would not sit well amongst my collection of WW2 planes.

Now if I was to win the lottery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ooooooooooooooooooooh boy!

I fear you may be correct there Tank, Lorraine thinks Maine is wonderful and would live there at the drop of a hat, a top hat even!

( I can hear the rustle of leaves in the undergrowth as Skunky heads for the hills!

Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

Hey, I did do that, didn't I?...

Hey Omnius!...Just what do ya think you're doing?....Two Gemini's and an HM right after the admonition to cease and desist?.....Wiseguy, eh?....

I tremble in your presence as I kneel humbly and kiss the earth you walk upon.
Well not really... But I'll apologise (I had not read the thread well enough) and post a correct new list!

AA99133 - Avro Lancaster B VI "Pathfinders"
PR94408 - Grumman Hellcat F6F-3 "Marianas Turkey Shoot"
AA31916 - Supermarine Spitfire - Wg Cdr Johnnie Johnson
US33309 - Boeing - B-17G Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine"
WB99602 - North American - P-51Mustang III - Eugeniusz Dziubek Horbaczewski

I must admit that I'm no aviation historian, but these models just give me good vibes so to speak.
