Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

Thanks for joining me at the Farm, Jim! I have all but one of the P-40's...so as a class, I'd put them right up there with the (old mold) Bf 109 and the P-38. However, I won't modify my list because the Doc is a 190 fan, and if he finds out about my P-40 addiction he might hit me with more joy juice...

God Bless America.

.

Yes, let's try to keep this to
Corgi aircraft, considering this is the Corgi Classics section. Thanx! (We can always do the other guys another time on a similar thread, OK? Thanx again!)

Re: What are YOUR PERFECT model(s)?

Just a thought or two on what we mean by 'perfection' --

Perfection is a vey high standard to achieve. That is why we are always striving to attain it. It is also a subjective term. That said, there are various reasons why 'almost perfect' is very acceptable, and it now becomes an academic argument. But for our purposes here, I would say 'perfect' has to be tempered with the fact Corgi doesn't create museum replicas -- and I think we all know that. They are models for the enthusiast. There are certain financial considerations to be factored in here too -- ours and theirs. In closing I guess I would have to say 'perfect' in our world here, would be if you were showing one of your finer or newer acquisitions to a friend, you could also crack a reference book with a photo of that aircraft in it and have confidence that the model isn't going to betray you. Impressive gazes should follow if the model is doing its job! I would be tempted to call that 'perfect'.

In my world, only a precious few of mine have been good enough to pull that off!

Just my 2¢ worth.
