Corgi announce Friday the Thirteenth livery.

A post on the DAF from Corgi has cleared up the livery indecision, the model will be as it flew operationally and not as on display in Yorkshire.

Re: Corgi announce Friday the Thirteenth livery.

I'll wait until the Mule has them on pre-order but I must admit I'm seriously considering the Barton Halifax as an alternative .

Also, a question that I need answered before I commit to pre-ordering: will the (somewhat complex) markings of Friday the 13th be decals (like the 909 B17) or pad printed...?

One sheep to rule them all ...

A massive, massive "Hallelujah" to the 1st !!!!!!!!!

An interesting point on the 2nd.......... Think that one's a 'wait & see' - hope all goes well

Sounds as if Sir Frederick Handley-Page's most famous individual airframe 'replica'/model is NOW gonna sell by the Shipping-Container load !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news !!!!!!!!!!!

Shipping container load, indeed! I wonder if they will jack the price up due to popularity?

Re: pad vs. decal -- I was looking over the Barton Mk III that that I got my Brother for Christmas and noticed that it is a reasonably flat surface with no massif joins or seams and should be able to accommodate pad printing easily enough. Mind you, the production gurus at Corgi may have another opinion.

I think my 'S' for Sugar (PO•S) Lancaster has all that decoration pad printed -- although I haven't had it out in a while, so I can't be 100% sure.

Re: Corgi announce Friday the Thirteenth livery.

There seems to be controvery as to whether Friday carried fin flashes on the outer surfaces of the fins. These photos, scanned from "Bomber Squadrons of the RAF", should dispel any doubts. Sorry, the photo got flipped, but it does show where the flashes were located on the INSIDES ONLY.

It appears that even the restoration unit at Elvington got it wrong! (HA!) At least, thanx to JETFAN we have a flying chance (pun intended) of getting a proper version of this Halifax super-star! Thanx guy!
