Exclamation What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

Well, the furor over the arrival of the Mk II & Mk III Halifax seems to have reached a control point, and I know myself, I was looking at mine here on my desk, thinking: "I need a twin engined bomber to go with this. But which one?" At first I was going to be content with a past release, like a Wellington but then I got thinking: "If I could have ANY twin engine bomber, which one would I like the most?" So here is my picks (not in order):
-- Bristol Blenheim Mk I
-- Handley Page Hampden
-- Avro Manchester
-- Avro Anson (Yes -- I know it is not a bomber, but I would like it anyhow!!)
So -- if you had a wish, what twin engine bomber diecast would you like Santa to bring you for Christmas from the workshops of Corgi?

Beaufighter.

Indecision is the key to flexibilty.
Flexibility is the key to airpower.
Indecision is therefore the key to Airpower.

Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

Assuming we're talking about 1:72 scale planes, I would opt for a Lockheed Hudson, Betty, PE-2, DO-17Z and A-20, more or less in that order. If three-engined bombers count as candidates, I would make the SM -79 my first or second choice. As for the Beaufighter, of course I want this one, but I don't really see it as a bomber. Rather, it's a jack of all trades entry---night fighter, anti-ship attacker, torpedo plane, etc.

beauFIGHTER, clue in the name , the blenheim is out in 2008, the Whitley would be a good choice from Corgi.

A-20. I need to get more PTO aircraft.

Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Yes, the Blenheim Mk IV is out in 2008 -- not the Mk I. Which begs the question. Since the Corgi model is that of the Duxford Blenheim that got so badly mangled in an unfortunate crash recently, and the Blenheim Duxford Limited group is going to restore it as a Mk I -- why doesn't Corgi switch gears and do a 'fund raiser' for them (and us -- or me!). That group is looking for something like £500,000 which is fair chunk of change, by anyones standards.

I forgot about the Hudson ("Yank in the RAF") and a Whitley would be an excellent choice -- as would be the Beaufighter, even though it was, yes, just a fighter!!

Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

The Whitley would be great of course to go with the Lanc, Halifax, Wellington but I would like to see a either Boston or Invader first .

Blenheim Mk.I, would fit nicely with my Lancaster and Wellington.
