Thumbs up Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

Also the economics of producing a modified tooling as opposed to a new one would seem to favour variants such as a Blenheim MK I.

One can only hope, eh? That Mk I variant of the Blenheim seems to be very popular on this forum.

Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

Oh, man, I'd be sooooo grateful for a Hampden. Nothing too esoteric, just a nice early war RAF model. Gibson's would do just fine(!)

Have always been a big fan of the Hampden, and think it would make a great looking 1/72nd diecast model. For right now just have to be happy with the two ID models I have of the Hampden.

Wow! For my money, the Cruver ID model above really 'nails' the look of this thing, eh? Yes, well maybe someone (I'm looking at YOU, Corgi) see fit to give us this super early war wonder some time in 2008/9? Again, it would be even sweeter if it was Gibson's plane as mentioned in his book 'Enemy Coast Ahead'!!!

Well, I could also be easily bought off as well with a HP Hampton !

J.P.N, you're funniest post, by far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (post#36)

You had me roaring with laughter, guy !!!!!!!!!!!!!

In London & Essex & 100 mile radius, a "Hampton" is a (er) 'Man's "member"

(Hampton-Wick = D**k !!!!!!!!!!!)

The phrase has often been used on BBC sitcom's

Just don't go ordering any 'twin-engined' Handley-Page's in London, or you'll end up meeting George Micheal & Co
& being 'propositioned' !!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. I'm glad you got a chuckle. It's amazing the amount of entertainment a typo can provide. I'm intrigued, to say the least. (I wonder what would happen if I mentioned my Dad had a car back in the early 50s that he referred to as 'his woody'. I can imagine him saying to my Mom: "I'm taking my woody out today, dear.") Gotta love those obscure cultural differences!
