Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

I would like see a Japanese Sally bomber. I think they are the best looking of their bombers. Probably the Betty would be the most popular, but they are big planes. I would also like to see another coastal command Wellington but not with all the antennas, One of the Polish squadrons would be good.

Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

There is definitely a whole bunch of twin engine bombers that would be great to see put out in diecast. My list would look something like this.

United States
Martin Maryland
Martin Baltimore
Lockheed Hudson
Douglas A-20 Havoc

British
Handley Page Hampen
Avro Manchester
Armstrong-Whitworth Whitley
Bristol Blenheim Mk. I

German
Dornier Do 17
Dornier Do 215
Dornier Do 217
Junkers Ju 86

Japanese
Ykosuka P1Y Frances
Mitsubishi G3M Nell
Mitusbishi Ki. 21 Sally
Kawasaki Ki. 48 Lily

Italy
Savoia Marchetti S.M. 79 (One engine turned off so it can make this list)

Soviet
Liyushin DB 3
Petljakov Pe 2

Thumbs up Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

Well, the good news (for me anyhow) is there seems to be a number of consistent aircraft showing up here. I'm hoping someone in this forum has a direct-connect with Corgi. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll be able (someday soon?) to add a Blenheim Mk I to my collection. As it stands, I'll likely kit-build one as I wait. I could also be easily bought off as well with a HP Hampton (or Manchester)! (I know, I know -- I sound like a stuck record again! There's no hope for me either, Jim.)

Re: What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

If Corgi is our only hope for getting new 1:72 scale twin engined diecast bombers made, it looks like our best bets are the Hudson, A-20 and possibly a DO-17Z or it's successor, the DO-217. Ranking well behind, in view of Corgi's marketing orientation, are the SM-79, which I count as a twin, and Betty, despite the strong interest in these planes. Of course there's always the possibility that some manufacturer will explore the alternative of doing such replicas on a quality basis, but in plastic---as was discussed in another thread recently. In that event, a lot of planes that cost too much if rendered in diecast form may be brought to the marketplace and fairly quickly---a prospect that I would welcome.

What is your MOST Desired twin engine bomber?

I'm cheating and going with a three engined aircraft. The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero!

Hey - some jets! Corgi already makes the Phantom and Tornado though.
