AA37202 Handley Page Halifax B.III

AA37202 Handley Page Halifax B.III
LK797/LK-E, No. 578 Squadron Burn, 30th of March 1944 (Cyril Barton VC)
17.25" (43.8cm) wingspan
A 1/72nd Scale Diecast model from Corgi Classics

I apologize for being redundant, but I didn’t want to hi-jack anyone else’s thread.
I had to make the pics for our site anyway so I thought I might as well post them. I'll post a total of four.

The Handley Page Halifax was one of the British front-line, four-engine heavy bombers of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. A contemporary of the famous Avro Lancaster, the Halifax remained in service until the end of the war, performing a variety of duties in addition to bombing. The Halifax was also operated by squadrons of the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force and Polish Air Force. Information above obtained from wikipedia.

Re: AA37202 Handley Page Halifax B.III

Is it me, and I apologize if I'm being nit picky, which is not my intent, but does it look like the exhaust on the right side of the picture (Number 1 engine?) is only connected to the bird at the front of the cowling? I'm not questioing the authenticity of the outlay, just noting that it looks unusual. Any feedback from more knowledgeable folks?

(Please keep in mind, I'm not sniping nor am I trying to turn this into a, "Looks what wrong already." session. I'm just trying to learn more from the folks on board who have seen the bird and know Halifaxes better than me.)

Anything for a weird life.

The close up of the Hercules engine comes from a museum in Prague !!!!!!!

Clearly shows the exhaust mount area coming from/leaving the cooling-ring at the front of the 'cowl' (as should be)

Looks like Corgi have 'nailed-it' (Hallelujah)

Hope you Canadians on the board don't 'dribble' too much, over the pic' of the Hercules Lancaster (lol)

Thank goodness! I was thinking the same thing. I know little to nothing about this bird, but I love it. I'm glad to hear that this is correct.

Yessir, Corgi has modelled the Hercules "hedgehog' or 'saxophone' exhausts nicely. No harm in asking though djjeff, they are an unusual config!

Careful Hornchurch, you're going to get me going on the Lancaster BII campaign again!! Well, there's nothing stopping Corgi now. The engines are there, and who wouldn't want a Lanc with Bristol engines, deep bomb bay and a ventral turret!!!

Re: AA37202 Handley Page Halifax B.III

Spot on the money there No 4. The Hercules engined Lancaster is a must. If they can give us two great Halifax with different engines then the BII Lancaster is one that we should push for.

A UK DAC member has an 'IN' with Corgi;maybe he can get the ball rolling!

I'd be in for a MkII Lanc as well!
