SAR Wessex is here!

the latest releases from the hound, I also see that a few other releases have crept in with the Halifax. Most notable being that the yellow Wessex has arrived.

Ooops!

Won't have the same impact in the US but this is the guaranteed winner in the UK with, according to the DAF, only 200 models left at Corgi. The yellow SAR Sea King is one of the most sought after models second hand (big money paid for minters) and the Wessex looks like following it.

Thankful that my one is reserved.

Re: SAR Wessex is here!

Just received mine today. First Corgi helo, pretty nice. Just might have to start collecting a few more of these things. Probably get the 2008 release yellow Sea King. Wish Corgi would produce a Canadian Navy or SAR version of the Sea King.

I don't yet have a Corgi 1/72 helo. I have one AH1-G soon to be followed by another due in soon. The SAR Wessex is appealing and I've always eyed the 824 Sqn, Sea King. The SAR one was always too steep price wise. Now that there's soon to be another SAR Sea King do you all think it would be as sought after as the original?

Hi ZS, if you don't yet own a Corgi Sea King then you are missing out on a spectacular model IMHO. Whilst I don';t own the yellow SAR version I have the 2008 version of it on pre-order with Flying Tigers & I have no doubt it will be sought after - especially as it is being produced in much smaller numbers than the first & according to the Flying Tigers weekly newsletter which came today the lot of them have been purchased by dealers pre-orders (same with the 2008 EE Lightning).

I have the Tiger Meet Sea King - its almost as big as a Chinook & it comes with 2 sets of blades, straight for "in flight" mode on the stand or drooping blades for sitting on the ground.

Re: SAR Wessex is here!

Corgi are allegedly matching 2008 releases very closely to orders and the yellow Sea King will, IMPO, be sought after. Time will only tell but the yellow SAR versions are very, very popular in the UK.

Re: SAR Wessex is here!

I have the yellow SAR Wessex, in addition to a CH-47 (US Army), SH-3 (Marine One), UH-60 (US Army 101ABN), and HH-60 (US Coast Guard). All the Corgi helicopters are first-rate and I will get more. Well done Corgi!

My wish list for future Corgi helos (in order of preference): CH-53/MH53, AH-64 (I think they'll do this eventually since the UK has some in service), EH-101 Merlin, Tiger, Lynx, CH-46. There are more of course (including UH-1, but I have that in 1/48), but this would keep me happy for a while.

Re: SAR Wessex is here!

I just ordered mine this morning. It will be my third Corgi helo - I just hope I don't get carried away with this new branch of collecting.

Re: SAR Wessex is here!

Very nice model- I saw it in person today.

While I can probably logically deduce the reason, can anyone tell me why one of the rotor blades on this helo is yellow and the others are black?
