Heard today from my local supplier that Corgi has been bought by two other companies, and that Corgi is saying they bought two companies,
can anyone shed some light on this!

I don't see any evidence to that effect on Corgi Internationals website.

The press releases don't say anything but if you follow the investor's links on that page 1 year ago the shares were at about $15.00 per share and closed yesterday at $5.28.
If nothing else I would say the company is having bigger problems than just quality control.
