Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

So I get "909" today but not before catching all hell from the wife. Her: "Do you have to have that now?", Me: "Um yeah its getting harder and harder to find dear, which means it will cost more later".
Shes a looker though I have one question. Every chin mount I've seen has the twin .50s pointing to the 12 o'clock, not 1 and 11 o'clock as on the model. The cheek .50s are cool, but I wish it had some waist ones mounted. And I'd rather have the on board crew like my Yankee Doodle than the individual figures. Still its a great plane and glad I have it.
Now to fight the urge for BOL, MNR and the Strawberry Bitch if ever I can get that lucky. These big ones are kinda nice.

My lovely wife went and bought me one for my birthday back on July 16th and I didn't even have to ask her! Go figure!

Ahh , but its gonna cost you big time when its her Birthday . My wife works on a 5:1 ratio. She spends £20 on my present, and I am expected to spend £100 on hers. Any drop in this ratio, results in dusting accidents until the balance is restored

Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

The guy who paid that much for BOL has dropped well over $2000.00 since the beginning of June on 15 models. Thats a rough average of $140.00 a model. Either he is new to collecting or just doesn't give two $*"t$ about the cost. I picked up BOL for about $60.00 a year and a half ago, and still see it going for $40.00 to $50.00 the past few months.

A 1/72 Bit Of Lace just went for £215 on UK Ebay. Thats got to be close to $400 US

WHAT????????

There is one on ebay at the moment with a BUY IT PRICE for less than half that.

Oh and actually £215 is more like $450 at the moment.

Just received Bit of Lace and Mount "n" Ride in pristine condtion from Choate76.

I posted pics in a new thread.

Thanks for the input guys. Love these planes, but BOL is a real standout, great finish... love it.

I have the Memphis Belle and highly recommend it. Is it still available? I don't think it is a limited edition.

Question Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

So tell me gents, I'm after Bit O Lace and can get one for $72. Would that be a reasonable price right now or should I wait a while?
