I think I may need to add '9-0-9' next to my 'ABOL' pretty soon.

Thumbs up Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

Late to the party, as usual, but I thought I'd add my two cents anyway. I have the B-17F "Sweet & Lovely, and she is that. The red & white stripes make her stand out, and I didn't find any glaring productions errors in evidence. I also have the Corgi 1:144 BoL, and it looks great in either scale. My BoL now resides on the bookcase of my wife's first cousin, a co-pilot on a 17, who was shot down on a raid over Manheim. The BoL was not in his BG, but he enjoys looking at the odel nevertheless.

Don't know if it's still available but I've got the "2nd Patches" B-17 as well and it is also a really nice model. "Bit of Lace" or "Sentimental Journey" are beautiful all metal versions. Basically any Corgi B-17 is acceptable especially since we've got no alternatives here.

That's a great photo flyXwire This thread has me thinking I may adjust my policy of only doubling up on Lancs

Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

I have Yankee Doodle coming as I liked the early war history and look of it. I'd like to get 909, but I think Mount and Ride will be an easier find. BOL would be my third choice for a late war B-17.

Re: Finally adding a B-17 to my collection....???

I picked up MNR and have regretted it ever since...I mean it led to me purchasing a B-24, and now I've got a B-52 on the way! I can't stop buying the heavies, not good!!!

Seriously though, MNR is gorgeous.
