"Annette" Phantom Sited

They're expensive--but Pete's has four of them for sale at his site.

Re: "Annette" Phantom Sited

Where did Pete get those models from?. It's hard to imagine. I've surfed countless sites and never seen four or even one for sale. Bought it years ago and it's the pride of my Nam collection. Close your eyes and plop that credit card down. You can always make it up by taking the wife/ girlfriend to McDonalds or somewhere cheaper.

Re: "Annette" Phantom Sited

Someday someone will put out a good Phantom. Then all the people who shelled out mega bucks for Annette are going to be wishing that they had put her up on Ebay while they still had the chance......What's so special about this particular F-4 anyway?...Did the Duke fly it?

Yeah, a run of 5,000, what is so special? Is it because it was Corgi's first 'Nam F-4?

What about some serious Mig Killer planes/ Cunningham? Ritchie?

Re: "Annette" Phantom Sited

It was so hot becasue it was the 1st and only Nam phantom for like 3 years I think. In that time it became almost legendary as a must have modern jet model.

You have to remember, it wasn't always like this...with so much to choose from.

The first 4 years or so of this hobby, dating back to like 98-99 were pretty exciting after a few more models got released. And, yes, it was only Corgi! Heck, it was big news when Dragon entered the field. I remember when I could still walk into my local place and see a Bader Spit or or Hahn 109 for $25. They had oodles of 'em. I passed on a NF Hurricane for that b/c I thought, "Who wants a black Hurricane?". I ramble....

Well at least he is one of the few that still has the Annette Phantom...The price is a little high but i'm sure it will sell out.
I sold my extra one i had last month on the bay 1/2 of what his asking price is..

Re: "Annette" Phantom Sited

I have become speculative more with Corgi. I had Annette and got her when she first came out. She sold like hotcakes. Then Corgi flooded the market with 2 other camo birds. Now whenever I see this happening unless I am in love and would dare not ever part with the model I sell it while the prices are still high. I figure i can always find a camo F-4 cheap. I have 2 Woodbridge F-4's I can't seem to give away. Annette IMHO was cool in her time but I feel sad for anyone planning to sell thiers down the road and expect a hefty profit. I doubt it will happen unless you are lucky enough to find that one collector who must have it. I sold off my Yellow SeaKing a couple of weeks back for $200 because although not the same model as the upcoming 08 Corgi decided to release another yellow RAF Seaking nearly identical. Word to the wise.....a better and less expensive F-4 is on the horizon don't get stuck with Corgi F-4's that are not worth thier weight in pesos.
