Re: How about this for Corgi's next heavy?

Yeah, but come on, do they REALLY have to ???????????????

Radio room guns weren't used that much, in combat on real B.17's - same with the front 'side-cheek' nose guns (offset)

For me, as an (older) Adult, I don't wanna see my 'Bomber' models "festooned" with guns............

Might appeal to a 12 - 13 year old kid............ but, not me.

Closed windows & no-guns is just fine, thanks

Like adding (stupid) "go-faster" stripes on a car !!!!!!!!!!!

I see what your getting at and guess its each to their own. Id much prefer to see it bristling with machine guns, true fortress style.

But surely the G model that has glazed over waist windows would still have guns, unless they had been removed for cleaning in which case they all should be removed ?? thought it was only earlier models with no glazing on the waist that you would see a closable hatch like on the 1.72 Memphis Belle.

Hi J.G.Y, possible mix-up here..........

I'm NOT refering to 'the' waist-guns (per se) ; I'm talking about the .50 cal's that (would) have fired in a LIMITED 'Arc' across the front of the Pratt & Whitney's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They point forwards & outwards via nose/cheek windows (pretty useless in combat !)

Don't get them mixed up with waist guns, or the (even more important) Chin-Turret guns, that were ESSENTIAL in combating against the Luftwaffe - Jagdgeschwader's "Company-Front" (head on attack) tactic's.......... (which were so devastating).

Presume you've misunderstood the 'location' I was refering to ?????????

(obviously, I'd expect a YB.40 to be 'bristling' with .50 cals !!!!!!!!!!!! lol
