AA32513 Captive Eagle II Pics

So.....very happy my (2) new Captive Eagle Stukas arrived from across the pond. Unhappy with having to pay over $20 bucks in duty. So the boxes came in a shipping bag, no biggie. Both outer cardboard boxes in good shape. Unhappy to see one has been opened by those hard working folks at CBSA, (Border and security, aka duty collectors, let the terrorists in, you know, those fine folks) opened one of the boxes......even unhappier to see the outer white protective box damage on a corner, angrier, now, inside blue box corner crumpled......steaming........collector certificate crumpled in 1/3rds jammed inside the white box (Corgi??? CBSA??) who's to know?? and most definitely cranked to see the broken prop on my pride and joy, which I paid a pretty Canadian penny for.
Pictures attached. Email to Susie at Corgi to follow. Oh well. Excuse the pics, taken in a bit of a hurry, with the movers coming tomorrow and all.....and the 3rd glass of wine under my belt...Hic...
Sure hope the 2nd one fairs better, afraid to open it, I'll wait until we move, maybe it'll be a new home surprise.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that this arrived damaged like that. I would be upset some too. I knew this would be a winner and I really like it but $100 is a ton of cash for a 1/72 model of this size. I still might do it but wonder how many of the rest of you will break down to add it.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Beautiful model! $100 Bucks! No thank you - I may be nuts, but I'm not crazy.

I'm a sucker for the Corgi Ju-87s and would add this in a heartbeat - if it was $50-60 dollars cheaper. That's really nice. Sorry it received some unnecessary brutality at the hands of customs.

I had an almost similar thing happen. I went to France and visited guignol1971 in 2006. He had purchased the Corgi BOL bomber in the US and I was going to deliver it to him to help him save on shipping. I arrived in Paris and opened my luggage to unpack and found that of the luggage I brought with me, the one carrying the model which was carefully packed inside for its safety, was searched by the TSA (they left their calling card in the luggage on the model). And yes, they managed to break some parts off it. Thanks TSA!

I wonder if the metal content of the models causes something to trip on their scanners that causes them (TSA, Customs, whatever government agency that wants to) to give the model a search?

I confirm that...
But after checking the model, and a little repair, everythig was almost OK !! Aniway, the best was your visit...
That's why, Black 6, you have to prepare a better delivery for the next "big" one, soon, don't forget.......

Re: AA32513 Captive Eagle II Pics

Sorry for the late reply, busy getting packed up for our move, still have internet though. Yaaaaaaahh. And TV for 1 more day. Anyways, ordered it through Susie at Corgi Collector club.

I bought two, paid $120.00 plus shipping...I'll double check my Mastercard bill at the end of the month for the exact total. I hope to get a replacement prop when I finally get moved. Still happy to get the piece all in all. Will hope to get the HM piece as well.

But you have to be a member (in which you have to pay) in order to purchase this plane right? So in all actuality, you paid more than $120
