Corgi's legend series

Besides from the cheap packaging, is the corgi's line of legend aircraft worth collecting? Pro's/Con's please.

Thanks

Re: Corgi's legend series

For the most part, Corgis Legends are not much different than their AA line other than the Legends come "gear down" only, have a different stand, and are unlimited..

Exclamation Re: Corgi's legend series

Perhaps a small point, but if you see storing your models in the future, you will find current Legends packaging 'cumbersome' compared to the Aviation Archive. Weird plastic 'cake boxes', odd stands that require screws, plastic bands or wire ties . . . stuff that adds up to a royal P.I.A. when it is time to re-box. With limited display space, I have to accept a world of 'rotation' and I have discovered AA packaging is best for that.

Other than that, the few Legends models I have are superb!

Re: Corgi's legend series

The model usually is okay and it should be all about the model.
Yet, even when you aks me to, I can't get past "the cheap packaging"

Can we try with real bullets now?

Re: Corgi's legend series

packaging sucks
models are really nice(most of them)
nice sturdy landing gear no loose parts
ready to display
excellent choices of livery
latest Typhoon excellent example of Legends at their best
Swordfish with D-Day stripes also a fine example
super value for the money
did I say the packaging sucks yet?

I'll agree with above. Few limited runs with certificates so less value down the road????

Sometimes it is nice to have fixed gear ( no chances of gear collapse or loss due to loose fitting)
I tend to display most of my models gear down. Makes moving and re-arranging much less of a harrowing experience.

Re: Corgi's legend series

I'm looking at four Legends models right now (OK, right now I'm typing, but if I turn my head a little to the right... well, you get the point); I think they're great values. Apart from the fixed landing gear they are identical to Corgi's AA models (unlike the newer Warbirds line). It's true, the packaging is not as nice, but it does have a few up-sides: When I display Legends models I just leave 'em on the cardboard base, thereby making the models less prone to topple over here in earthquake country, and the clear plastic boxes are easy to stack 'n' store. I have a few other Legends models stored in a closet, and the packaging makes them easy to admire without having to unpack them.

Re: Corgi's legend series

Packaging is nearly as bad as FOV 1/72. The models themselves however are excellent and robust. The Legend Finucane MkVb Spitfire is reckoned to be the best with accurate paint work and detail. Higly recommended IMHO.

Re: Corgi's legend series

Only complaint is the unsightly screw hole on the bottom, fortunately I don't display them upside down, so problem resolved.
