Re: INA the Macon Belle

Too bad that Martin must've committed to producing these latest commissions as the schemes are interesting, but the plane is atrocious.. (goes back to lovingly gazing at the Eagles Ina in his display case)

The plane looked rather good in Old Crow's Gathering of Mustangs pictures though,

I shall have to stick arround for better picture of the model. I think I'll get that stuka on skies first.

Re: INA the Macon Belle

Hworth18,
Have you had a chance to see the Corgi P51B in person yet? I have not, but the pictures posted looked pretty atrocious. I was hoping it might look better in person and you certainly have a great eye for detail.

Anything for a weird life.

I looked at one closely when they first came out and to be honest, I have to say that the new "B/C" Mustang is truly awful... It looks good from a distance, but up close, it just doesn't cut it, especially with Gemini's fine Mustang offering so widely available.. I expected more from Corgi but when they announced that they were doing the "A" and also the "B/C", I was wondering how they would do it since they are NOT the same plane.. Mark and I both looked at it and pretty much had the same opinion, and you guys know me that I very rarely ever bash Corgi, but I was not impressed..
I am sure that some folks love this plane and the above is just my personal opinion and nothing more, as I have found out that tastes vary wildly from member to member, but this one is just not for me..

Re: INA the Macon Belle

I love the Eagles verion of this plane. It is one of the nicest pieces I own.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I agree the best "INA the Macon Belle" is the 1:48 Eagles P-51B...I have seen the Corgi P-51B and it does not look right to me
Gemini's P-51B are the best so far in the 1:72nd scale.
I just hope when Corgi make the P-51A or A-36 that they have a different mold for it.
