That's a very nice looking set, though I can't help you on it's actual value, sorry. Incidentally, I am planning a tribute of Tuskegee Mustangs escorting a B-17 or B-24 diorama presentation similar to the set you have shown. I've bought a couple of the diecasts 1:144th scale P-51s by Aeroart from the FM. Now I just need a aerial topography pictures of the landscape for my base. Any suggestions where I can find one? Thanks.

Hi RockJock - I see these on eBay occasionally and IIRC they typically sell in the $35 - $50 range, though as things go they certainly can sell higher or lower than that. For example, I once saw the similar 1/144 BBMF Lancaster/Spitfire/Hurricane set that usually nets a similar price and threw out a $20 bid, and won it for $18. A few weeks later one sold for close to $50. It's the nature of the market, I'm afraid.

FlyXwire. Go to Google earth and download the picture of the area you want. Here is Munchen, Germany, from 24,900ft. Typical bombing altitude on a nice VMC day. Use a good printer (or print shop if it's larger than standard size paper), use good photo quality paper and presto, you can bomb anything you want. Another idea would be to use some of the airfields in England. There are a few remaining that could pass for a WWII station. Not all areas are high quality so you need to experiment with the program. Best of all its free.

Thanks, I came across this on eBay and since I don't really collect Corgi I'm not going to go for it. So if any of the Model Hangar members are interested here is the eBay listing. I don't think it will go for more than $10 because it is listed sort of under the wrong category.
