OK thoughts on the two and which would you get?

My only Lib is Sky Witch. I really dig the skull and crossbones.

I have seen both the models you mentioned and probably prefer Balls of Fire, mainly because of the B in the white circle on the rudder and the red trim around the stars and bars. These set this one apart a little more as they are otherwise somewhat similar in appearance.

Why pick one, get them both I did.

Both are excellent models which I highly recommend. If I had to pick one it would be the Ball of Fire only because the Jerk is kinda plain Jane.

I like 'Jerk's Natural' but there is very little between them; toss a coin!!

Re: Jerks Natural or Ball of Fire the III?

Both are Ploesti Raid aircraft - so that cancels out.

I have Jerks only.

I like the roundrel on Jerks - N. Africa Torch (That roundrel is rarer in my collection.) Of course "Ball..." has the red boardered roundrel of '43.

Jerks does have the markings of a claimed U boat from an earlier Atlantic assignment.

Re: Jerks Natural or Ball of Fire the III?

Shawn, both look about the same to me with no real impressive stand out markings ( just my opinion)

I have Sleepy Time Gal and think it is quite impressive. I also have Michigan, which I only got because the price was great and I wanted a silver B-24.

But, that being said, Ball of Fire seems to be more colorful.

Re: Jerks Natural or Ball of Fire the III?

Here is my problem. I have four B-17s ( YD, MB, 909, BOL) that cover the beginning, mid, and late war. I want to do the same with the B-24s. So far I have S.B., STG, and Michigan ( converting to a 8th/15th Air Force bomber ). So either Jerks Natural or Ball of Fire will round out that collection, two early and two late B-24s. BoF III is cool for the red surround insignia, and JN is cool for the sub kill. What to do, what to do? LOL

Get J-N - You can get this one fairly cheap and easily on the bay. I kind of perfer the green color on this one to the other as well

Ooops!

Re: Jerks Natural or Ball of Fire the III?

I wanted an early B-24 and ended up with Jerks Natural because it was the one I could get cheap on Ebay. If the prices are the same then you pick the one you like best. When one is $20 or more cheaper that is a strong incentive to buy it!

I'd entirely agree with 'Old Crow' for exactly the same reasons !!!!!!!

I love those short-lived 'Red' insignia surrounds, as well as the 2nd Air-Division - 93rd Bomb-Group I.D. circles

(Apparently, they were the oldest B.24 group in the 8th Air-Force (93rd Bomb-Group, based at Hardwick) !
