Re: P-51B Speculation

The blue is much darker in reality Andrew. I wish Corgi would give us an early RAF model with the 4 x 20MM cannon. That would be worth having IMHO.

The Corgi Mustang MkIa (four 20 mm cannons) is due in February, AA37105 P-51 Mustang RAF No.225 Sqn, Algeria, May 1943. It will be the only P-51A in 1/72 scale. I'm looking forward to it, but after 'Missouri Mauler' I have my doubts. The all brown 'Shangri-La' does look better than the polished metal 'Mauler,' but no where near as good as any of the Gemini P-51Bs.

Re: P-51B Speculation

I have that one on pre-order Lee. The one I wanted Corgi or Gemini to do was ETO Fighter Command circa 1942 on Rhurbarb raids or the role as Army Co-operation aircraft.

Holding out that the British P-51A will be worth a hoot. Otherwise not interested in Corgi Mustangs.

Weren't most of the early army co-ops the MkI, with 2 x 50 cal in the nose and the 2 x 30 cal plus 1 x 50 cal in each wing? Either way, I'll take one!

Re: P-51B Speculation

Being a big fan of the Gemini P-51Bs I took a gamble on getting this Corgi model. I have to say that Corgi have done a good job although it not in the same league as the Geminis. Corgi have improved the undercarriage, the fuel tanks are removeable, and the paint scheme is excellent.

Where is this model available? I know it was scheduled for release in December, but I haven't seen it offered anywhere online.

Anyone? Sounds like the model was ordered (#15), but if so, from where?

Ah, so. The Isles seem to get everything Corgi about two-weeks before the US does...Thanks.

Oh. Didn't notice (sheckle problems). However, waiting for these December releases is a killer.

Re: P-51B Speculation

Still waiting on the JU-52 floatplane, A-10s, and P-51Bs to name but a few. That's a serious amount of 'bugs bunny' without all the first half 2008 Corgi pre-orders. Don't even start on whatever Gemini bring to the party and let's not forget Hobbymaster with whom I've 3 P-39s and 2 ME 110s on pre-order!! Better start buying Lottery tickets!
