Lysander returns to RAF Newtownards

Today for the first time since 1945 a Westland Lysander returned to RAF Newtownards, the 225 Sqn aircraft visited the station that was home to 231 Sqns Lysanders during WWII.

The photos were taken on the pan at 664 VGS the only part of the airfield still owned by the RAF.

Re: Lysander returns to RAF Newtownards

The original Newtownards Lysanders 231 Sqn ,the first photo show an ATC cadet being shown the Vickers "K" gun the others show lysanders over the local area.

Very well done, Sniper. Extremely well executed B&W shots to accompany a provocative intro. Again, the talent level in this forum really shines out. I'm so impressed!
