Re: corgi 2nd Half '06 - Speculation???

I think that P38s, and Typhoons will go first : they've been awaited for a long time by collectors...
Some unusual aircrafts like the float Swordfish should be in a good way too.

Re: corgi 2nd Half '06 - Speculation???

I would guess the Bong P-38s and Swordfishes (all) would go fast if Corgi can get the QC issues under control.. My exact list would look something like this:

Bong P-38
Bismark Swordfish (1st hlf)
Black Swordfish
Catapault Swordfish (1st hlf)
"PRG" Typhoon
Olds P-38

Re: corgi 2nd Half '06 - Speculation???

I am thinking the Black Swordfish and the one w/ floats will be lower production runs (less than 2000), only guessing though. So I would expect these would be tough to get by next summer if not sooner.
The "Droop snoot" P-38 likewise. I'm not so sure about the Olds F-4. I'm sure it will sell well but with the previous SE Asia F-4 "Annette" I just dont consider it super rare.
I really try to pick up any of the Corgi's with production runs below 2000, let alone 1500 or less. The 500 piece runs are the REALLY choice ones! I have paid some premium prices for those Cogi historic center gems!

Re: corgi 2nd Half '06 - Speculation???

Had a quick look at the bong P-38, why will this be so sought after??
The livery is not as cool looking as the Olds P-38 IMHO - is this an American thing I am missing, or is this to do with his kill scores??

Well for me I think it's fairly sharp looking and it's Bong's plane. That being said, I really want to see them make "Putt-Putt Maru" and "Pudgy"

They could almost copy the Armour release choices and I'd be happy. Pudgy and Put Put are great but Pudgy is catching right now and can't model...get it, model...?

What was that neat French one....blue....?????

St. Expoopery (whistle, whistle, watermelon...?) I know it sounds like Roxbury...

Richard Bong has always been the ace of aces. At least in American folklore!

Its the first Corgi P-38 (if it ever comes out!), it belongs to the leading American ace, and it is typical of the markings used in the '44-'45 SW Pacific arena. Personally, I plan to get most of the 38's, and the 88's, and the Typhoons. Remember, a year or so ago we were all demanding that Corgi get off the stick and produce all three (plus others). Well, they're coming, so it is time to enjoy each new arrival.

Really I think your right about the American thing. Bong was one of our BIG aces and so should sell well here based on that alone I'd figure... Kinda like Townsend and rightfully so!, but I agree the more unusual, and colorful the better to me. Thats why I'm really itchin' for that "D-day Droop Snoot" P-38, and the Swordfish versions.
Some of the other odd Corgi's are among my most prized... C-130 w/target drones, Seaking helo/yellow RAF rescue (this one is exceptional), B-52 w/X-15, etc.
