DON'T BE MISLED/MISTAKEN by the 'Buff-coloured-Card' above, (marked "Aircraft-Collection") stating "Original" - it ain't !!!!!!!!!!!...

Thanx for the heads-up. I am well aware it isn't original even though the museum info posted here implies it is, but I'm confident you cleared that up for others here who weren't aware.

The bits and sections that make up the displayed aircraft are indeed original -- but original to OTHER planes(!!!) -- not 'Friday the 13th'. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed they broke up 'Friday the 13th' after the war for scrap. Pity the Dams Lancs all met the same fate too in 1947. You would have thought they would have saved at least one.

There is evidence to suggest, though, that one of the big guys at Avro was able to get and save the control column of Gibson's aircraft. There seems to be some mystery about where it is though. I have a hunch it may be at the Dambusters Pub in Scampton on display. Over the next week or so I will try to confirm this.
