Re: PBY-5 Catalina "Black Cat"

I take it the blisters on this plane are sealed closed, as on the Snafu Snatcher?

Also, as the bombs (Or torpedos?) fixed onto the wing or optional?

By the way, thanks for the excellent pictures .

Re: PBY-5 Catalina "Black Cat"

Unfortunately the bombs and blisters are fixed, but it's beautiful just same. I second the kudos on the pics.

Re: PBY-5 Catalina "Black Cat"

Is that a photo of the actuall Black cat? I am trying to find out if it is a PBY-5, or PBY-5A. In the pics, it looks like a -5A, which would be great.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I believe that it's listed as both a 5 and a 5A on the box. I remember thinking that was odd.

Re: PBY-5 Catalina "Black Cat"

So it does have wheels? I think that would be cool. I like the amphibians better.

Re: PBY-5 Catalina "Black Cat"

I am really glad that they made it an amphibian version, as the Blackcats used alot of them. Also, the type of nose turret blister is one off of a late -5 or even a -6. Thanks. I can't wait until mine shows up.
