Re: Favorite online stores

I shop both these as well,.... don't forget the Spitfire Emporium in Kitchener. The Mule and Perrys in the US and Hattons in the UK for older Corgi.

I forgot about the Spitfire Emporium. I need to check that out.

Plane Nuttz.... other area members....don't forget Aviation World's tent sale this Saturday (today)!!!

Arrrggghhh!!! I have a trip planned there tomorrow -- Sunday! Oh well, thanx for the heads-up.

Re: Favorite online stores

I now order from The Flying Mule almost exclusively. Their customer service is excellent, their low shipping charges are hard to beat (free over $100), they have a wide range of stock and they ship quickly with secure packaging. I order from Dave and Sally at Aikens Airplanes occasionally. On ebay, I've bought several from Choate76 and starshipwings - both of them have been excellent sellers.

to all these sellers. I have never had a problem with any. I also use Pete's as he has had quite a few of the older models I have had on my list on special. Some order from him though have taken some time to arrive. In addition I have got a few from Perry's, but his prices are very much in to top of the range I would want to pay, so I only usually buy from him when he is running a special, but on the plus side his stock availability can't be beaten.

From the UK I have used Jumblies to get a few rare ones, but shipping can be expensive, proportionately even more so if you ship multiple planes together rather than separate packages.

Ooops!

I'm not really complaining, but, yea, when I order from the Mule, it seems to take around seven days to get to Ohio also. Maybe I should move to New Zealand!

Come on over, we'll make ya welcome!!

My S & S Dambusters Lanc turned up today, along with my Wellington, Lysander, Ju-88 & Sea Gladiator from Aiken's - 7 days from door to door but i've had deliveries from them & the Mule in 6 which is really outstanding. Always well packaged and never a scrath on the boxes.

Have made my first order today from Perry's as well as another from On Mark so interested to see how they stack up for packaging & turnaround.
Never thought i'd find a Corgi 1:32 AA33904 KL-B "Kiwi" Spit but Perry's had one and its on it's way - Happy days!!

Re: Favorite online stores

Burbanks House of Hobbies usually has some great sales on specific airplanes.

Aikens Airplanes has excellent customer service.

But, my best purchases have been from the guys on this site. Check out the Classifieds Section in the Forum and you might just find a really good or even a great deal on some purchases. Since I have been a member of this forum, I think I have bought 15 planes from these guys, and never a problem.

Re: Favorite online stores

I've ordered from a variety of retailers (based on availability and pricing):

Troy's Toys
Flying Mule
Perry Aircraft
Monkey Depot
Burbank HoH
OnMarkInt
Aikens
Pete's

I have met with good to great experiences with all of these retailers. I think that The Flying Mule has the best site hands down!

I also am fortunate to have two brick and mortar stores in my area where I can see before I buy (my preferred method). If any of you ever pass through KC, be sure to drop into Troy's Toys - it's wall to wall Corgi, Dragon, Franklin Mint. You really need to see it to believe it!

Re: Favorite online stores

The Flying Mule has the best site and a great selection, but I usually place orders for one model at a time, and the shipping -- plus tax, as I'm in California, too -- adds up. Since I discovered Burbank's House of Hobbies I've been very happy with their prices and service -- and the shop's local, huzzah! Online, I give to Perry Aircraft and Aiken's Airplanes.

Mr Mule set a record for me two weeks ago - 4 days from California to New Zealand. I ordered on Monday and the order arrived Thursday :-). Maybe he flies them over here himself in his own plane;-) (Can anyone remember what was it was he owned - a Pitt Special?)

Re: Favorite online stores

Spinnaker, I'm confused. In the previous post, you 'quoted" me as saying:

I NEVER said that! I don't have any complaints about the Mule, and the time it takes really does not bother me, but I NEVER stated the delivery time is outstanding. I'm assuming some sort of error occured when you went to "quote" someone.
