Re: Corgi 2008 catalog

I can't say that there is anything here that I have to have. Might be able to muster some excitement for the WWI stuff but who knows when we'll actually see any of it.

Re: Corgi 2008 catalog

Guess I'm the odd man out because most of these don't do much for me. OK- sure I'll probably get the jet Lightning just so I don't have to pay $100+ for one of the older ones. And I'll eventually get a Blenheim though I'd like an earlier one I think. Perhaps seeing the models will change my opinion but compared to 2007 this first half doesn't get my blood pumping.

Re: Corgi 2008 catalog

I'm not even finished with 2007 yet...

I will certainly get the Blenheim and Bf110. The DC-3 will depend on the livery.

The Shutleworth Hurricane is a must, the Typhoon, Me-262 and Mosquito a maybe.

Can we try with real bullets now?

Post Re: Corgi 2008 catalog

This is the Halifax that I have been waiting for other must haves for me are the 1:72 DC3 in BEA livery, Me262 Franz Schall, The Blenhiem, Dam Busters Lanc, The Typhoon, all of the Eagle Day collection & the Meteor I will hold off on the Binbrook Lightning untill see it in the metal it depends on how Corgi execute those wing tanks but it would be an ideal companion to my Airfix Binbrook Javelin poor house here I come

Re: Corgi 2008 catalog

Same as the A10 no connection at all with the molds both developed independantly.

Personally, this listing is the final proof that Hobbymaster has completely overshadowed Corgi. I used to always put Corgi ahead of other manufacturer's products, even if they weren't quite as detailed, beause they supported their line well and there was a strong community following. Now, Hobbymaster seems to be far more responsive to consumer input and makes a nicer product for less money. Sure, Corgi is still a good niche for British aircraft the others won't touch and the heavies, so I'm happy about Blenheims and DC-3s. As for Bf 110 and A-10, I'll stick with Hobbymaster now unless Corgi can step up their game. Kudos to Corgi for expanding the WWI line, but I have little optimism that the DR.1 will compare favorably with C1's. I noticed on another site that the military vehicle line appears to have been terminated. I'm still not sure whether we are watching Corgi recover or slide more toward oblivion.
