| P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere, a brief search did not turn up the answer to my question. I have heard for a long time that the P-51 Corgi mould in 1:72 is terrible and that the Dragon mould is far better. Size aside, how does the 1:32 scale Corgi P-51 stand up to the accuracy IYHO? I believe the 1:72 scale version has something wrong with the nose, but this is according to others and not of my own observation. Cheers. | |||||||||||||

| Re: P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality I have three of the 1/32nd scale Corgi P-51's. I think that they are great looking. The detail is very nice, not to the standards of GMP, but still very nice. The 1/32 scale aircraft are a great bang for the buck The 1/72 nd sclae ones do have problems with the shape of the nose and upper cowling forward of the windshield. | |||||||||||||

| Re: P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality I think the Corgi 1/32 Mustangs are more accurate "shape-wise" than the GMP versions, but both are acceptable.. | |||||||||||||

| Re: P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality The 1/32nd Corgi Mustang mold is an entirely different animal than their 1/72nd abomination..The overall shape and stance is actually more accurate than the GMP P-51s, although they are not as nicely detailed, and the plastic prop is a bit of a disappointment. They look like Mustangs... I like 'em. | |||||||||||||

Oh boy... I have to disagree. The only thing that I think that is more accurate about the Corgi 1:32nd model over the GMP is the width of the landing gear. The Corgi, though I do like it, looks bloated in comparison to the GMP model. | ||||||||||||||

| Thing that got me started collecting diecast planes was a Corgi Tuskegee Mustang. I also have three 1/32s and even Mrs. Van likes BBD, much to my surprise. I really do like the larger scale even though space for storage and display is at a premium. Can't yet comment on the GMP though, still waiting for my first one to arrive. | |||||||||||||

| Re: P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality I have one GMP P-40 and was totally impressed with the detail and quality of the model. I have been pondering getting the Tuskeegee P-51 by GMP as a result, so I may consider it sooner than I might have otherwise with the commentary. I have all of the P-51 Corgi's in 1:32 and I really like them, but the GMP comparison is one I will look forward to. Cheers for the thoughts. | |||||||||||||

| Re: P-51 1:72 Vs 1:32 Mould Quality I have both a Corgi 1/32 Big Beautiful Doll Mustang and a 1/35 GMP Cripes A' Mighty 'stang (with Duchess Arlene on the way . The GMP P51D is also truly superb with quality in abundance. Definitely up to the standards of 1/35 Minichamps armour in quality but lacks a display stand and also has a plastic propeller (unlike the 1/48 scale Eagles International masterpieces which have greater detail, superb stands and a metal prop | |||||||||||||
