Re: AA36902 Corgi 1/72 scale JU-52 Minesweeper

I suspect they were far more concerned about lead, shrapnel and water-spouts flying around than the dangers of EMR (which I suspect were unknown then) ... .

They probably never figured out why they could'nt have kids either

One thing I did notice about this Ju-52 is that (I think) the pre-pro had wires on the magnetic ring that attached to the 'aerial/strut' on top of the fuselage ... possibly too difficult/fragile to put into mass production .

Could be as the ring is supposed to be removable, having wires from the fuselage to the ring would hinder its (essential in my opinion) removal

The more I look at it , the more I like it. Sweeeeeeeeeeet!

Its growing on me too.......

Re: AA36902 Corgi 1/72 scale JU-52 Minesweeper

I'll sit tight and wait for Tricatus' pictures. I do like it but with the Ju-88 and Intruder coming next month I better chill. Still, if I could find one for under $100.

...........or sell something.

Re: AA36902 Corgi 1/72 scale JU-52 Minesweeper

The pics do look really good.. I bet it looks even better in person..

Right you are, Harry. I saw this today at Burbank's House of Hobbies and was very impressed. The finish looks great and the detail parts, like canopies, machine guns, etc., seem much more crisp and well executed. It's big and looks impressive. I'm tempted but the price tag convinced me to wait until I see the others and decide which one I like best. Can't recall the exact number but the production run is around 1900.

One thing struck me as odd. The outer engine nacelles on the wings are not parallel to the fuselage. Each cants outward by what I would guestimate is about 15-20 degrees. Anyone know if this is accurate?

Yes, increasing the angle of the engines in this case reduces the yawing in an engine out scenario.

Yes - Check out this photo - you can see the way the engines are mounted.

Interesting, I'll have to look at my FM version and see if they're as accurate. Good on ya Corgi. Really want to get this one, but with 3 Intruders on the way, not sure if I can swing it.

Love the stand on this one too, tres cool.

I looked at my Franklin Mint Ju-52 and the engines looked canted out just like this photo.

Just shows Corgi can do it if they put their mind to it.
