"The Ones That Got Away"

"Regrets -- I've had a few . . ." or so goes the song. Anyhow, the purpose of this thread is to 'moan' about the models you let slip through your fingers (for whatever reason), yet now realize you should have acted at the time because those models are starting to get rare and elusive. For openers, here is my partial list:

-- 1:72 Lancaster No. 419 Sqn. RCAF (AA32605)
-- 1:72 Wellington (AA34801 or AA34803)
-- 1:144 Bristol Britannia Caledonia (48605)
-- 1:144 Bristol Britannia RAF Transport Command (48604)

That is a just a few that I should have picked up at the time they were plentiful. What are yours? (Discuss!)

For me it was the BBMF set.

Keep'em flying.

Re: "The Ones That Got Away"

Although I haven't given up... for me it is AA33902, 1:32 Spitfire, Lane, "Battle Scarred." (I am still hoping some kind soul out there on MHII will take pity on me and sell me an extra for a decent price.)

Re: "The Ones That Got Away"

Actually, now that I'm faced with packing up for a move -- I kind of regret getting so many of the ones I do have, and not letting a few more "get away"

Yep PO-S for sure - I didn't collect diecast then, but they had a launch article on the Corgi Lanc in Aeroplane Monthly around that time. I then saw one in my local store, but it went before I could justify it to myself. The when I went back to have another look they had the BoB set. Again no action happened on my part

Ooops!

Re: "The Ones That Got Away"

There was this Dutch gal once, oh wait we're talking planes. So far I've managed to get by hook or crook the oldies I missed the first time. I regret not getting the Flying Mule Bare metal no marking B-24. And I'm sure there are some I dont know about that I'd want if I saw them. But so far I'm good.

Re: "The Ones That Got Away"

Started in this game a little late so I spend a fair bit of time searching out those old Corgi 50's fighters, Hunters, Lightnings etc. Am pretty good on smaller stuff like Spitfires and current items. Found a little store in Western New York that has most of what I want ( don't ask, I will not tell you until I have milked him dry) he still has most of the heavies. Going to pick up Memphis Belle tomorrow. Trouble is sneaking it across the border.
