What's the deal with the Vickers VC-10?

What's the deal with these? Will they be available in the US? I haven't been able to find them in-stock or for pre-order at my usual haunts.

I have no idea why, but I think they're pretty sweet, especially the following :

Re: Vickers VC-10

Due in October I believe, a few popular US sites have these for pre-order. Search for AA37001

Very nice models of a superb aircraft but like the Nimrod how I wish it had been in 1:72 scale.

In 1/72 the VC-10 would have a wingspan 4 inches wider than the 1/32 mossie, which means I would have to have one .

(Also a Vulcan if they could rustle up enough zinc for the wings )

Re: Vickers VC-10

I'm such a moron! I found this one at one of my usual websites...of course I couldn't find it last night, which is way I created this thread. I must've been blind.

Like the way you think dilligafocau the Nimrod, VC-10 & Vulcan are must haves in 1:72 scale for me but like a 1:72 TSR2 it will never happen

Two of those I wouldn't bet against.

Fingers crossed Sniper I have an Airfix TSR2 in the loft still to be done ....if I can stop my hands shaking long enough to build it... I need some x10 magnification too!!

It still surprises me why Corgi wouldn't do the TSR2 in 1:72. That is such a well-known aircraft with such a die-hard following. Almost approaches 'cult'. Almost. I'd have one in a heartbeat, if I could ever get near them(!) I liken it to the Avro Arrow here in Canada.
