| Re: US35212 Robert H. Vaught P-40E-1 I agree I really like the shark mouth style. Got it yesterday. Have been very surprised about the lack of comment on this bird. | |||||||||||||

Its just like I keep saying, these are the unsung heroes of the air. same for the Hurricane, do all the work and along comes the Spitfire and takes all the glory. If this had been a new Mustang or Spitfire release we would have heard lots about it. Good old P40, tough, hard working, can fight in any climate and lethal in the right hands. Lets hear it for the P40 YEAH.. ![]()

| Re: US35212 Robert H. Vaught P-40E-1 Right on Jim! The P-40 and P-39 are not highly regarded as fighters, yet somehow the Soviets have a long list of aces with great success in them against the Luftwaffe BF109's and Fw190's. One account that stands out is a Red Star P-39 downing 3 Fw190's in a single mission! That reminds me - we need a 1/72nd P-39!!!! | |||||||||||||

Quite easily - Not my cup of tea. I've heard that the rear mounted engine had a propensity to travel though the cockpit on crash landings, taking the pilot with it.
