Re: Corgi Quality and the New Typhoons

By the way, anyone getting this model should compare the prop on this model with the prop on one of their 1/72 Mk I Spits.

The difference in engine power must have been amazing!!

Spitfire Mk.1 = 1,030 horse-power (Merlin)

Spitfire Mk.II = 1,175 horse-power (Merlin)

Typhoon 1.B = 2,260 horse power (Sabre)

With more bhp than BOTH Spitfires PUT TOGETHER, no wonder

the Prop-blades were SO LARGE !!!!!!!!!!

(& no wonder it's got a split-chin ).

Celtic,
Hey there.

You might be right about sending it back? I guess it depends on what kind of mood I'm in and right now I'm okay with it.

By the way, you mentioned your birds were all low numbers. This one is #188 so it fairly far down.

I just took a look at Tricutus last photo shot and the gaps on my bird are not nearly as bad as the one on his European Typhoon. I've got one on the way from TFM on Monday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.....

Guy, we may have accidentally stumbled onto something here, because my Egyptian is also #188. Anyone else? Is it possible that the dog (puppy? canine?) is playing with the numbers here? Producing more than advertised to boost value? WHAT GIVES (to put it politely!)???
