I hope it is just a rumor. I am looking forward to some of the 2007 releases.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

Like I said, this is a rumor. I can't find anything on the Corgi websites about it. Apparently the news came from a UK retailer. And like I said, it can't be completely accurate, because three of them have already been released!

Perhaps the others have been merely pushed back to 2008?

This would be consistent with Corgi's practices in the past. They announce many new models but only produce a fraction of them in a given year. The rest get pushed back to the next year and the cycle starts over again. I'm not really shocked.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

This sounds like someone stirring the pot there. If accurate why was the Galland 109 on it?

Most of the stuff I was interested in was on that list. Come to think of it I think everything I had my eye on was on that list.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

Another update from our sister site:

2007 COLLECTOR RANGE RATIONALISATION – Supporting the Trade and the Consumer

Further to the recent merger of Corgi Classics, Master Replicas and Cards Inc, the new Corgi International business has taken the strategic decision to rationalise the Corgi Collector range. A significant number of products featured in the 2007 catalogue have been deferred (circa 150), the models retained (circa 400) being the most desirable in terms of livery and tooling. In addition we have reduced the production quantities of the remaining models to promote sell out at good prices and enhance the overall collectability of the Corgi brand.

This programme of work is designed to create a stronger more focused Corgi Collector category moving forward and to avoid residual product entering the market and affecting both product and brand value.

More details to be announced regarding the above changes in the coming weeks.

23rd February 2007

Still, I have serious doubts about the accuracy of the list. I wonder if Corgi has decided not to sell the US catalog in the UK (thus the US releases will still be available in the US)?

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

Considering that some of the planes on this list have already been released I would questions its authenticity.

As far as getting your news from retailer; I had a Corgi retailer tell me that Corgi was bankrupt and that there were locks on the factory doors as the reason why the Bong P-38 was not in stock last fall. If it is true it is ashame since their are several planes on the list I really want.
