Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

With Corgi's bottom end dropped out last year (stocks down to less than 5.00 a share) flooding the market with this years models and last years unreleased models who can afford them all and all the new releases from all the other company's include FOV starting to make bombers, I think if they stuck to the original plan there would be a lot of back stock, like hworth18 said "it doesn't mean they won't be released at a later date. Corgis bottom line sucks and there hemorrhaging badly. The new management has to clean up and get Corgi back on track hopefully it means quality aircraft and no more of the de-cert of models .I just like to know who the idiot was who selected which models would be cancelled I was also looking foward to the WW2 releases.
I don't understand the stock market but it seems other than a few exceptions the price of planes on Ebay kinda follow there stock prices when stock goes up you get a better price when it tanks your just S.O.L. .
Here is a small bit for there fiscal year ending in 2008. Looks like they may be expecting alot.

Exclamation Word from Corgi USA regarding 2007 cancellations

Per our phone call this morning, Corgi USA states that there are no official cancellations or deferments of the 2007 catalog for the US market at this time. Our rep did state that the UK market would however experience some reductions in 2007.

Statements are paraphrased not quoted.

I take it your just talking about the "US-" prefix releases here, not the "AA-" releases that were in the US catalog that are also on that list?

No, The USA catalog in total.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

I do have some contradictory information, though it's hardly worth the controversy. According to the Corgi stock report issued on 2/23/07 there are a few cancellations.

Aircraft models are shown in Dark Red.
  • AA32813 Mosquito FB.Mk.VI MM417, RNZAF "Harbour Bombing Raid" Feb. 1944 Sights & Sounds
  • US33311 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress "Big Yank"
  • US51027 M4A3E8 (76 MM) Sherman Tank of the US Army's Company C, 89th Tank Battalion, Han River, Korea, March 1951
  • US51604 T34-85 Tank North Korean People's Army
  • US61003 Arnhem Bridge Set 1 Tiger I Tank, 3 Figures & Base
  • US61004 Arnhem Bridge Set 2 Panther Tank, 3 Figures & Base

Re: Word from Corgi USA regarding 2007 cancellations

Just to logistics of cutting releases from the UK and not the US.

I can understand them restricting the "US-" prefix releases just to the US, esp with the power of the web for anyone in other markets to be able to make a purchase. But there are a lot of pure AA releases in the US catalog, such as the B25's and the Maritime lanc that are on the list. It seems strange that they would just manufacture this for the US and not send any to the UK.

If what you say is true I suspect the list is pure fiction, or at the very least a first draft with no final decisions made, and should not have been released to the public at all.

I wonder if this also plays into their statement about cutting run numbers, and they are now going to just build enough of some releases to satisfy certain markets, leaving the others high and dry? Is the US market that much stronger than the UK?
