Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

The problem is :

Corgi is too expensive, and now, many sheriff are in town (HM, FOV, IXO, Witty and Dragon).
B25 FOV 39.99 $ B25 corgi 79,99$
HM Stuka 24.99$ Corgi stuka 34.99$
What else ?

Last year i've just buy 2 or 3 2006 corgi model's and i wait on EBAY the reduce prix.
If corgi continue this expansive politic i say BYE BYE, and i not the one.

Mr. Froggy,
Corgi is still the industry leader and will continue to be as long as they continue making diecast aircraft.. Some Corgi models may discount but most retain (or exceed) their resale value unlike the "other" brands on the market..

Hate to burst your bubble Harry but I just listed six of my Corgis on ebay (including my Boyington F4U and my Hun Hunter P-51) and sold them for substantially less than retail. A few models (like the 109s, BoB Spits, and JU87s) may hold their value but generally speaking, I don't see them going for that much more than all the HobbyMaster, GeminiAces, or Dragon planes listed go for. You are correct - Corgi IS the current industry leader. But I can see them becoming a niche manufacturer in order to survive. Other than the P-38 and PBY (which BTW is really costly), their British and German planes are what most people tend to rave about. As for the US market, I believe we are a small part of their empire and really are not much of a concern to them.

Wow, sorry to hear that, it must've been a bad day on Ebay....
(UK forum reporting that the Tuck Spitfire/Hurricane are averaging $120 each)
Just try reselling any of your Dragon, IXO or Hobbymaster stuff, you won't get half of what you paid on 99% of their stuff..

(On a side note, I do think that Gemini and Hobbymaster are the best up-n-coming competitors to Corgi, but if Corgi stays on their current trend, they will be #1 for years to come)

25% still leaves 75%; think positive lads. I have the usual stack of advance orders, but only appear to have lost a few if this list is correct. Happily, the Halifax seems to have survived so far which is my biggest "must have".
I display all mine and, even though I've just had a second new case built, space was becoming an issue, so it will force me to be more selective with my purchases.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

I wouldn't wander too far off in the direction of this being fact. I don't know what Jumblies would have to gain from posting it if it wasn't true, but I can tell you that 80% of Corgi's stock list is sold out.

I'm just not buying it. There's too much that doesn't make any sense here.

It does sound weird I have to say, but sold out here does not necessarily mean sold out in the UK. They could be sitting on decerting sizable sums.

I still have a hard time fathoming this list. A lot on it is just due for release in the next few weeks. With manufacturing shipping and distribution lead times I would have expected a lot of that to be already in manufacture or completed.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

I wanted the Eagles of the Reich stuff most of all and especially that FW-190.

Ever since I saw that Trudgian painting "Day of the Fighters" Maybe next year.

Oh, and Tricatus has all the cancelations marked on his site too.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

Yes the FW190 was 1 or 2 on my list, along with California Cutie.

I also really wanted the RAF B25, the Maritime Lanc and the B17E (As long as they did the right side windows, nose and rear turret).

Hm, didn't check in for a week, and this happens!
Oh well, i was also looking forward to the Fw-190, but as long as the Galland is out... softens the pain...

Re: 25% of the 2007 Catalog Cancelled?

Just noticed how hard it is to get those six WWII tokens (the blue ones), with all those US cancellations. I think I made it today, as long as the Stud P-40 actually comes through. Now let's see if Corgi will honor a) the actual offer of a special edition Halifax, and b) tokens from a US buyer. Hope, hope, hope--and hope is about all we have.
