Question Re: Flying Lemons

US32106 Messerschmitt Bf109E Lt. Werner Schroer, Libya
US37101 P-51B Missouri Mauler
All Spitfire Mk IX's

I gotta agree with Lanceforthright. I've got the "poo" B-25 as well and really like it.

What's the problem with the 109 Butcherbird?

Wink Re: Flying Lemons

I think "Black Bunny" is a cool paint scheme but I agree about the others.

I agree, I have this one and quite like it. Of course I like my Annette and No. 74 Sqn. birds a whole lot more.

Don't have it, but the issues I belive are the color (it really is lemon colored) and I don't think it has a tropical air filter.

Ooops!

Re: Flying Lemons

1. Wrong Blue Corgi Civil Hurricane - HRH princess Margaret’s racing colours were royal blue and gold, the hint's in her title
2. Corgi F-4U RN with yellow cowling - the blue is just pants - unfortunately it's accurate for the airshow incarnation
3. Anyone's P-51D with that stupid 'blue' cammo - it's a problem with 1940's colour photos chaps, it's really green

er.....seem to be a bit blueist.......

Re: Flying Lemons

The only Corgi I am dissapointed with is the Lerch Corsair. It just looks cheap compared to my other Corgi Corsair's ( White 167, and Marine's Dream ).

Heck, I even think my FOV Corsairs look better and those cost half as much.

Re: Flying Lemons

I have about a Squadron of P-51Ds, all are Corgi. Gear down options are pretty bad, Trim and Elmers glue is the 'Name of the game' with with these models.Corsairs fare no better..... I could include Hurris & Spits........but what's the use....... they make 'em we buy 'em. I wonder if any warts come with the Warthog.????

. . . but get a bit queezy looking at most of the post-war/cold war jets like the Sabre (really, Corgi!)

Gee - I don't know . . . I have the 'Golden Hawks' Sabre and I think Corgi did a fine job of capturing the spirit of that. I would say the panel lines are wee-bit deep, but they are crisp and the colour and markings are sure bang-on -- at least when I compare it to the one I've seen on several occasions at the CHW museum (and in the early 60s on display on the tarmac!). The U/C is a nice job with good detail. (Now their 1:144 versions of that same aircraft -- ouch! -- woof!! )

Re: Flying Lemons

Thank you fellow collectors.

I have reviewed these posts with interest, and have also taken Parsig's advice and reviewed some previous posts.

I should also point out, that recently I was able to secure all 14 Warbirds series 1 issues and sent my tokens off to a friend in the UK. Corgi sent him a sights and sounds Heinkel which he then onforwarded to me. I quite like this one. I'm not really one for gimmicks, but it was a fairly inexpensive transaction.

The Warbirds are ......... Well I think I would have to agree with other members of this forum regarding these aircraft. There are some good pilots in these kits, and it is a shame that they aren't being released in the AA range. I don't think I would buy these again as I am not really fussed with the finish. I suppose though, as it was inexpensive and I have butchered the boxes to get the freebie which in a way was worthwhile.

If I was going to purchase anything else other than the AA range, I think it would be some of the Legends series....The only Warbirds I'll pick up again will have to add some significant interest to my hangar. Perhaps at this stage RAAF pilots will be my only choice.

Thanks again all for your feedback. I value your opinions.

Again, can I recommend the B25 "OH7"

Cheers
