Corgi 1/72 - Hawker Typhoon - R.7752's Front-Wing

Here are some photo's of the new Corgi Typhoon. I must admit, despite the yellow, I really like it. it certainly captures the look of the beast and has some nice details. A very positive fit of the undercarriage plus glass lights, good paint job and some fine detail.

I can see where Corgi could add rockets as the piece of wing 'insert' on both sides seems to be plastic to allow for a modified piece with points for the ordnance?

Anyway, after years of asking, it has arrived and IMHO is a good effort. The scheme maybe a bit 'garish' but that was how it flew in the war, hardly Corgi's fault?

Re: Corgi Hawker Typhoon IB (AA36502)

Nice pics Shuttle, thanks for posting!! I would think that Corgi NEEDS a rocket version, and as the reasoning has been debated before, I won't get into it, but the 1st issue looks pretty good and I do agree with you on the Yellow..

Re: Corgi Hawker Typhoon IB (AA36502)

I have on the same PO as the Swordfish w/ stripes. It's a far cry from the IXO one huh!?!? Although, I still can't bring myself to ditch my first diecast Typhoon. I like the Yellow and need a few brighter schemes in the showcase. Must admit this may be the only one I get from the ones announced so far.

Re: Corgi Hawker Typhoon IB (AA36502)

I noticed that these were starting to pop up on the Bay so it will be a few weeks till we see them in Canada, can't wait been itching to get one of these. The pics are great, looks like the joints are nice and tight. I also agree with Parsig, I like the yellow adds some contrast to the beast. Some under wing ordnance would be nice, might have to rob my HM F6F for some and get out the Elmer's and see what it looks like when I get my hands on one.

I have that one on pre-order with a sea fury I can't wait to get it now...But I agree on them adding rockets that would be a big plus

Re: Corgi Hawker Typhoon IB (AA36502)

Thanks for the pics Shuttle. I got my brace of 'Tiffies' this morning as I ordered AA36501 (Egypt) also. IMHO the Typhoon was well worth the wait as I cannot see any QC issues at all.
The undercarriage legs fit neatly into a rubber aperture (did'nt want to use the word HOLE) which means that they will not collapse like the FW-190's. Everything about these models is solid with the reinforced plates nicely shown, clear landing lights, and faired 20MM Hispano cannons.
The pilot is shown with the essential oxygen mask as the Typhoon was very prone to fumes leaking into the cockpit area. The paint work on both aircraft is top class with no obvious flaws. 8/10. Sorry but I don't have a digital camera otherwise I would post snaps. I'm looking forward to the later versions with bombs & RP's.
