It flew a few missions with out the while the groundcrew was in the process of painting it on there. My grandfather was a ball turret gunner in the same 91st with the "909". He said it was no unusual to see B-17 flying with a miss match set of camo.
 

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

But I think though it would have been there with those nose mission markings as this is depicting it at the end of the war.

I don't know what Corgi did. If it does depict it at the end of the war, then they got the overall color wrong.
