Re: Mig-21 of the Indian Air Force Poone 1971

Welcome lavneetgyani. I have two HM Mig 21s and they are well worth waiting for. In fact I'd be willing to get more but with so many other new models arriving on the scene its a very tight balancing act. If only there was an endless source of funding...

Re: Mig-21 of the Indian Air Force Poone 1971

Do we have confirmation on what the up coming Hobby Master Indian AF MiG-21 will look

HA0141 - Mig-21FL, Indian Air Force 8 Sqn, "Pursoots" Poone, 1971

I would love it to be the MiG-21FL Serial C992 shown here as it looked in Early 1970s.

I may have to re-think things if we get this poka-dot nightmare

MiG-21FL 8 Sqn 'Eighth Pursoot' Serial C773 BAB

Re: Mig-21 of the Indian Air Force Poone 1971

Thanks everyone for all the posts and the warm welcome. Thanks for the link hawkonevoodoo. Great information on the IAF and the Mig 21 in that. Brings back some nostalgic memories from the the stories of 71' Indo-Pak war that i'd been hearing from my father as a child. He was a Major in an Air Defence brigade (Indian Arty) and posted at Poone in Dec-1971 during the war and my mother was pregnant with me . Of the responsibililies of the AD brigade was to provide cover and defend the Air bases in and around Poone where the sqdn's of Mig-21's were operating from. You guys could well imagine what having a few of these would mean to me and my dad.
Cheers

Re: Mig-21 of the Indian Air Force Poone 1971

There has been a change of plans:
Ok, I can now post the list of models that Hobby Master won't be doing:
Pakistan AF F-104, Douglas Dauntless Marshall Islands, Grumman Hellcat Mk.I, Indian AF Mig-21, TBF Avenger USS Yorktown, Ju-87 Immelmann.
I can't elaborate on this but I'm sure you don't need me to.
